Today we’d like to introduce you to Audra DeRosa.
Hi Audra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It started back in 1993, in a garage & a dream. I thought wouldn’t it be fun to deliver balloon bouquets & baskets? So that’s what we did. The fun was happening. As we grew we could not do this & work full time. I sold the business to my sister. Well it then turned into a huge Party Supply store that I worked for her.
We planned & decorated many parties throughout the years. It’s in my blood. I moved to Sarasota/Bradenton area in 2010 & decided in 2013 to once again do what I love.
We decorate all types of parties( birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, weddings, dinner parties, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs).
It starts with an idea, a conversation with our clients. We then put all that information into a Storyboard to help you visualize your event. The magic happens from there. Your space will be transformed into your Special event.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Sometimes you create an idea that is so beautiful & then think how on earth do I make this. That is the fun part because when your guests look at this beautiful piece of decor they are amazed. Building the backdrops or centerpieces that hang from the ceiling is they reason I love this. When we are all done you step back & look at the venue it makes it all worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Always Special Events offers planning, linens, backdrops, ceiling draping, centerpieces, & florals. We also offer Halloween & Christmas decorating for your home or business. Our newest addition is setting up your tablescape for small gatherings or dinner parties.
I am not sure what would set us apart from others because we are all creative & make beautiful events. When talking to a potential client it just feels right & you know you are a good fit for each other. It’s about building a relationship, a bond with your client & ultimately trusting that you will delivery what you say.

Any big plans?
My plans for Always Special Events are to keep doing what I love for as long as I can. I have a few key people that help me & they are terrific. No big changes scheduled as of right now but we would be sure to announce that very loudly if something comes up. Our plan is to keep making beautiful events.
